Vission & Mission
Sub-specialization in Radiology has been increased expansion and utilization of teleradiology, as clinicians and patients not only expect but often demand expert interpretation of images, not only in major urban, but in rural and medically underserved areas as well.
The demand for imaging and subspecialty interpretation has also had the consequence of making radiology a 24/7 service that requires not just residents to be on-call after hours and on weekends, but the availability of expert attending-radiologists as well.
At the same time, availalbility of subspeciality Radiologists is not proportionate with the ever increasing demand of the subspecialtiy services even in Tier-II cities.
It is the aim of SL's Consultant Teleradiologists to provide the highest level of radiology expertise in various sub-specialities at affordable cost to the patients and for the sustained development of Modality Centres even in Rural Areas including the Charitable Hospitals.
One of the aims of the SLTS' Radiologists is to releive the stress of their collegue Radiologists who are unable to avail weekeds and/or struggling in attending their emergencies/personal works considering the priority needs of patinets and the hospitals/Imaging Centres.
SL Teleradiology's consultant Radiologists have generous mind and are ready to serve the patients oniste at any time but travelling to the hospitals and or imaging centres is one of the greatest hurdles being faced by them. The charges they levy for reporting even do not meet the cost of travelling, if not compensate the time they spent for travelling from place to place.
In the present scenario of day to day improvements in technology, it may not be possible for the onsite Radiologists to have their own teleradiology set up at home to meet the necesseicities of the hospitals or imaging centres to which they are providing services including Volume and Surface rendering reporting. Similarly, it may not be financially feasible for some of the Hospitals and Imaging Centres to employ on rolls the Radiologists 24/7 in all subspecialities to provide the appropriate healtcare to their patients at affordable expense.
SLTS's Radiologists never ignore the role of the Radiologist as an integral expert member of the patient health care team, but at the same time, considering various contraints as explained above, which are illustrative but not exhaustive, SLTS' Radiologists developing a Teleradiology platform customized to fit the needs of various hospitals and imaging centers providing simple to multi- superspecialty radiological services.
SLTS, as stated above, being organized by invidual Radiologits, having benevolent mind, do not encourage commoditizing radiology by focusing only on report delivery and generating case volumes but, as integral expert members of the patient health care team, they will have contact with the radiology technologist(s) at the modality centres as frequently as possible for better quality images and transmission, as poor quality images are often a problem with teleradiology interpretation. On invitation, one of the Radiologists of SLTS team may consider periodic onsite visits not only for the personal contact, but also to have a clear picture of the required services, technology, the staff and for better coordination between the modality and the teleradiology centre.
As a part of its Charitable activities, SLTS provide charitable reporting to the Charitable Hospitals and Rural health care centres on non-profit basis for the sustained growth of such institutions doing charitable service.
SLTS' Radiologits invite their collegue Radiologits to join hands with them to serve the patients abiding by the sacred Hippocratic Oath.
